We have been featuring a painting holiday in Venice for over ten years. Afterall this time we know we have perfected the programme. We have found a wonderful hotel on The Lido and the best local restaurants for dinner. Charles has been running this holiday for several years and knows exactly where to go to capture that perfect picture. If you look at Charles' details you will see that he has mastered the technique of painting water which is handy when you're surrounded by water. Venice out of season, when the hordes of tourists and the heat have departed, makes this a perfect location for a painting holiday. The holiday would suit non-painting friends/partners as there is so much to see and do in Venice. Our decision to stay in a hotel on The Lido has been welcomed by all of our guests. After leaving busy, central Venice behind, what better way to end the day than with a glass of Prosecco on the lovely veranda of the 4 star Biasutti hotel or with a stroll along the famous Boulevard leading down to the beach and the Adriatic sea before dinner. The Boulevard has many lovely high-end shops selling fashionable clothes, shoes, jewellery, gifts, Murano glass and much more. There are many terraced bars, ice cream shops and restaurants along the Boulevard to sit and watch the beautiful people walk by. Venice itself, just a 15 minute vaporettao ride away, has a multitude of things to do and see. There will be plenty of time to visit the incredible museums and art galleries in Venice. There will also be the option of seeing an opera at the famous La Fenice theatre. Guests will be collected from Marco Polo airport and taken in James Bond style, by private water taxi over the Lagoon to the island of The Lido. Painting/drawing tuition will take place each day in quiet, beautiful locations in Venice. In the evening the group will meet together to have dinner in some very carefully chosen, excellent restaurants near to the hotel. All dietary requirements can be catered for. A painting holiday in Venice is an unforgettable experience.
"It was a wonderful week! So many magical moments, especially as it was my first time in Venice. I was so glad that our hotel was on the Lido — much quieter, far fewer tourists, good restaurants and very beautiful homes and buildings. Thank you, Sheila" .
