The BBC speaks of Fiona as being "One of the Country's leading portrait artists". She has painted the portrait of many famous people including Prince Michael of Kent, Lord Carrington, Juliet Stephenson, Seamus Heaney and many others. We are very privileged to have Fiona as the tutor on this Portrait Painting workshop. Guests will stay in Hotel Celide which is situated facing the medieval wall of the beautiful town of Lucca. It is just a five minute walk into the city. There is a Spa in the hotel for guests to use. Lessons will take place in a large light studio in the hotel. There will be a clothed model each day. Tuition will take place each morning and again later in the afternoon. There will be a tour of Lucca with a very knowledgeable guide and there will be an evening of Puccini opera in a lovely church in the centre of Lucca. Lucca is the birthplace of Puccini. Lucca is a well-known for its high, wide medieval wall that surrounds this Tuscan city. On top of the wall is a pathway for walking and cycling with trees and park either side. Guests can hire bikes from the hotel to cycle around on top of the wall. There are lots of lovely shops, bars and restaurants in Lucca. Guests will get together each evening to eat a wonderful dinner in one of the many excellent, different restaurants in the town. Guests are able to make their own choice from the menu.
""Absolutely superb. Our tutor, Fiona Graham-Mackay, was brilliant: intelligent, warm, and empathetic. She has the gift of enabling students to give the very best of themselves, and to push their boundaries".
